Squirrels 

We have 2 Squirrel dreys at PAWS, each of these can have up to 24 children:

Brownsea Squirrels - who meet on Thursdays 4.15 to 5.15pm

Nutkin Squirrels - who meet on Fridays 4.15 to 5.15pm

Squirrels is the scouting early years section for children ages 4 to 6 years, the sessions are based on routine, welcome, chat time, story, activity, games and closing song, through which the children earn badges while trying new things through learning while doing but most importantly have fun.

We also take part in activities our whole group does, e.g. day trips to camps, activity days and joining with the whole Portsmouth District for Christingle service and much more

We were fortunate enough to be part of the pilot for early years scouting so we have been running since 24th September 2019, during which time as a pilot, we were called Hedgehogs. We are now called Squirrels due to the thousands of red squirrels on Brownsea Island which is where Scouting starting many years ago
